The Buy North East campaign aims to get local procurement on the business agenda in the region

The campaign aim to get the issue of local procurement firmly on to the agenda of private, public and third sector organisations in the region, providing stimulus, case studies and practical advice to both buyers and sellers with the result that more business is done between companies based in the city and Aberdeenshire.

At a time when many businesses and individuals are feeling the impact of the oil and gas downturn, it is more important than ever that we collectively do all we can to help the regional economy, and protect and create jobs in the area.

We are asking that every local company or organisation signs up to our pledge to support the campaign, puts “Buy North East” on their next board agenda, and then aims to move at least one contract or piece of business to a local supplier.

• 500 organisations signing up to the Buy North East Roll of Honour
• Putting the item of local procurement on the board agenda of the organisations
• Stimulating more business taking place within the region
• Creating a sense of pride and aspiration within the North East

“Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce is delighted to be involved in Buy North East. The Chamber already procures the vast majority of the products and services that we need from our members across city and shire and we urge all other organisations in the region to sign up and consider moving just one contract to a local supplier to help protect and create jobs at a challenging time for our economy.”
