The Equality and Human Rights Commission, in conjunction with NECC and FSB, will be hosting an event on 27 January highlighting the proposed changes to local authority procurement process brought about by the new Public Sector Equality Duty.
The event aims to provide both existing and prospective suppliers to local authorities in the region with an understanding of the implications of the Equality Bill and the work that has been done to ensure the impact on businesses is minimal. A series of workshops will allow delegates to give feedback on the proposed new approaches and supplier toolkits currently being developed, as well as the opportunity to discuss the benefits of adopting better equality and diversity practices.
The event will run between 3pm – 7pm at Newcastle Civic Centre. Anyone interested in attending should contact NECC Policy Adviser Jonathan Walker on 0191 374 6465 or jonathan.walker@necc.co.uk
